Its clean and the conversion was executed well. I like as long as he doesnt tell people its a benz or a Lexus lol. The car is too square for that front end though. A+ for effort and for the craftsmenship

Props on doing the conversion but not feeling it as much. Nice choice of wheels though.

Clean work, but I would have just bought a GS..

I see alot of nice lines on this car, but I think the grill is killing it. I think if he switched it with something that doesnt scream "MERCEDES!!!" we would have a nice... interesting looking tl :P

Its like putting an S 14 front end on a Civic, looks good but why not just by the GS300?

IMO the first gen GS would have been a more asthetically pleasing conversion.

its nice and it looks clean to me. i would have preferred more traditional, but it is executed nicely.

wow very interesting. I agree the front end doesn't flow. Nice stance and wheels though.

front grill isnt mercedes grill, is the blaze grille for the TL.. Lex headlights/ top half of GS bumper molded to bottom half of the TL bumper..

It might not be a authentic MB grill but to me it seems to emulate the style to a T.

nevertheless Its definetly different!

Sick! Wonderfully executed headlamp replacement.

Only thing I don't like is the size of the wheels

I wonder if the Weds on the above TL are 20s? They look pretty big.

I like this TL. Stance and fitment. They are selling their wheels.

oh noes secret offsets again! lame

watch out the white tl guy might start crying again :smiley-rofl:

that guy is on acurazine as well, the work is really clean and well done from what i can tell thru pics. usually i hate conversions but this one has me at a 50-50 reaction. the grille is made/meant for 99-01 tl's, it replicates a benzo one of course but its not like it was custom built specifically for this car.

kranze's are what i think i dont care for.... they look a bit too big, almost..

 overall

I respect the work and dedication put into this car, but I dont get the point of a conversion to another type of car.

I can definitely see a lot of time and money went into this TL with GS headlights. It just doesn't flow that well IMO. Interior looks pretty sick.

i like the coversion. i think he could go a step further (since it looks like a mb grill anyway) and do the mb hood that lines up with the gs lights.

http://k-break.com/event/47gw/06.jpg

i just can't figure out why he sectioned the bumper. there are a lot better kits for the gs than the tl.

lame. but the white one looks so much nicer than the first one. although the first one was done nicely, but not for me.

i like the white one. conversion was just a huge waste of money. could have sold the car and bought a lexus or infiniti and built it and would have gotten alot more love.

but brave for doing it.

i want whatever he's smoking thouhg =D

JDMJim

well, that's the HIN part of it. fancy bodywork rather than get the real deal. you guys oughta see the GS300 rollin around the shows here. bagged, mediocre rims and some wacky bodykit. simulates the AbFLug kit for the Supra but worse. and this gauge panel over the stock ones. you can hardly see out the windshield with all the stuff on the dash. and that's a consistent show winner. ...

well, to spend that much on the front, to look like a gs? and its an acura? dont see the purpose. IMHO the body lines of the car are square, to add a round front look, just doesn't coordinate.

Colt45
11-30-2007, 04:32 PM
ehh its not for everyone...

might as well have put a godfathers customs s10 phantom grill on the front as far as im concerned. He prolly spent more on buying that car, the sheetmetal and lexus parts, and paint and bodywork, than he could have bought a 99 gs300 for. Not to mention the 20x7.5 +75mm offset looking wheels kill it as well. Paint it money green metallic, gold plate the wheels, and put boston celtic guys on the doors.. Then it will look more like what the owner is shooting for.

Sooo, not to be a weinerbreath, but im going to have to say that i dont like the Acksus tl3200

eeehhh dont like it...never really cared for acuras other than the older legends ....Work on it looks to be pretty good though, but not my cup of tea...The second acura has much better wheel choice and fitment..

its a nice car. hes put so much work into it.

btw tho its not a MB grill, its an after market set made by blaze.
and those headlights, he retrofitted the 02-05 Q45 projectors on them
and under the hood its got a comptech usa supercharger.
hes sponsored by a couple of companies.

sick ride tho, but yea the front is too round for the body

thumbsup for trekking new terrain. i do agree that the rear is too sharp for the front, but still it's a nice individual touch that draws attention. and isnt that what we all aspire for?

i appreciate the comments for the ones who did. thanks

i can appreciate the time and money that guy put in his car. i dont think thats a road i would have traveled but the interior out of a new TL custom done in red and the trunk is pretty impressive. and its supercharged.

and under the hood its got a comptech usa supercharger.

so its got like 15whp over a stock type s.

Comptech superchargers are mondo inefficient and a waste of money. Roots style blowers are for 57 chevys and dinosaurs of the past, centrifugal superchargers are much more effective.

More or less all dudes done by adding that blower (besides becoming a perfect host for multiple problems) is created a detonation creating aparatus on top of his engine that crams hot air inefficiently down into the combustion chambers.

I worked on/built a yellow 01 integra type r that was on the cover of sports compact car a few years ago for the ultimate street car shootout. The owner spent something like 25,000 on his engine when he had a comptech blower. The car never made over 350whp. With membrane intercoolers, water injection, blower impeller upgrade, big boost pullies, j&s safeguard timing knock sensor.... Junked the supercharger, kept the same long block and made 490whp on pump/550+ c16 with a custom turbo kit /to4r turbo.

Im all for modding cars out. I just think its riceboy to buy something just because its an item you can say you have.

Surprising such a conservative car would attract so much attention. Id assume the owner just rear ended someone and used insurance money to mini truck the front like that though.
