So this morning I woke up and said goodmorning to my wheels....
http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd114/sherlockSEL/part1wheels.jpg
Took a shower.... and dried my face....
http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd114/sherlockSEL/jptowel.jpg
Stepped out onto the porch for some fresh morning air....
http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd114/sherlockSEL/jpdrapeshaha.jpg
I started thinking about the packages i'm waiting on....
http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd114/sherlockSEL/jpbox.jpg
I figured I should post a teaser thread online, so I signed on to VSC....
http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd114/sherlockSEL/jpmousepad.jpg
So here's where i'm at: The purple tint is peeled, and the interior:
http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd114/sherlockSEL/part1interior.jpg
Is in my living room....
http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd114/sherlockSEL/interior1.jpg
My ugly huge steering wheel is gone, and this new one is waiting to be put in:
http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd114/sherlockSEL/wheel.jpg
(The horn button does work and I got a smaller softer horn honking at people (cute girls) and a huge ass air horn BUT I cannot say where it's installed cause that must be reveiled in a youtube video)
The smoked taillights are really nice! I replaced the bulbs with LED clusters which light it up amazingly at night.
http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd114/sherlockSEL/Tails.jpg
Euro Headlights and smoked corners with stealth bulbs are pretty sweet.

My best friend in high school had an '82 300SD Turbodiesel as well. That car was so loud we would have to shut the car off whenever we went through the drive-through.
Anyway, I can't wait to see more of this build-up. It's looking good so far and I love the euro headlights for the W126. Where did you get that steering wheel?
PANCAKES!

Yes elpresidente! I did get those tires! The tires are Vredestein Sessanta's. I read about them in MLE and was really interested so I thought they would be the perfect tire for my build. They were only $400 shipped for the pair of 275/35's.
Progress will be slow for a bit. The door handles are getting shaved and I am redoing the interior myself by hand. I should have the whole kit installed and the car repainted dark metallic blue by January.
I do love the JP stuff :-P I am really into VIP cars and the concept of "VIP lifestlye." I have been in the automotive industry a few years (partiatly with this place to credit) and can really relate to Junction Produce and their beginnings. When I first found out about VIP style (back when VSC had 100 members) they were who I swore i'd build with once I had "made it." This whole build is a culmination of everything I wanted in a VIP car. The 126 platform with the Junction Produce kit seemed so fitting.... and so totally freakin' awesome. I hope you guys like the final result! This is the first build of many you guys, me and my friends have alot of ideas we want to apply to our cars.

Looking good, any pics of the tail lights all lit up? What style of LED bulbs did you use? (ex. tower, array, wide-angle, etc.)

Hi,
I was wondering who the seller was? where did you buy it?
I am interested in seeing how those tires perform.

Hey! I've been way to busy to work on the car but i've had some time recently.
This is a pic of the matrix bulbs, as you can see some aren't LED because I'm waiting on the correct sizes. 2 of the bulbs I bought were too big and wouldn't fit.

The interior is coming around:
http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd114/sherlockSEL/Interior1107.jpg
Here's the bad news....
So I was driving to the paintless dent repair place to get the dents in the rear quarter taken out, I jumped the car and didn't slam the hood down, so at 60mph all of the sudden the hoods wraps itself over my windsheild and slaps my roof. Now I have to go drive to wisconson to get a new hood. It's ok though cause its only $200 and the car is getting repainted anyway. I might try and put some louvers in the hood brabus rocket style with under engine LED's to illuminate the 12 cylinder banks but I dunno yet. Here's the damage: (notice the reflection of the hood on the wall)

http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd114/sherlockSEL/Damagedhood1.jpg
I found out i'm going to have to run spacers on my rear MAE's which i'm not really down with so I think i'm going to selll them for Amistad F's.
More later!

UPDATE: LED light overhaul is in progress after finishing my GS.
I am CONSIDERING not going with the JP kit at the current time. The way my MAE's turned out is so fresh its unbelievable. I showed the kit to a friend of mine and he said “it looks like a 1996 body kit on a car from 1986.” Allot of cars need kits to really bring out how awesome they really are but I like my mercedes without a kit, I feel the kit will take that away from me, I want a badass sunday driver that’s slammed but still classic. I think the JP kit takes away too much from it. I know its blasphemy but at least wait till you see how the MAE’s look before you condemn. The project was stalling out for me because something didn’t feel right. After I picked the car apart and decided it was the kit that I had the biggest problem with I am much more eager to finish it. Some cars just don’t need body kits. and I really understand that now. Besides, I have other things to Junction Produce anyway. (and i’ll be honest, $100 for cheep poorly molded plastic emblems with flash lines cerintantly doesn’t make me want to rush to go put more of that on that car.
My focus is on the interior and the suspension. The engine is going to be tackled second to last, paint beginning the final step. I have my interior templates cut, i’m just waiting for the mercedes factory hides to show up. The car is getting painted the black pearl we’ve all seen on the new S550.
Trust me guys, when the final pics are posted, %95 percent of you will agree that JP wasn’t the way to go with this build. I’m going to do things with the hood that are very nice.
Jtaing that sucks about your SEL, thats always my biggest fear about my cars is something like that will happen.
The battery is dead I need a new one, when I get power to it i’ll post pics of the back with the LED’s completed in the rear and in the license plate holder. I’m extremely pleased with the new direction this project is going. I was worried my new GS400 would take away from the SEL build but instead its letting me divide my ideas in 2 cars. It’s like I had 2 builds I wanted to do in one, now that I can seperate them, I feel much better and much more excited to finish this project and move on to my next one (now that I see someone on CLVIP is going for it)
Stay tuned! - Sam

Key aspect of vip styling. SUSPENSION AND RIMS.
Everything else are just tasteful accessories.
Way to go on discovering that. LOL. Hurry up and post pictures of your car!

The Grundels Merc is not progressing very much. I let the car sit too long so now its dead. I gotta pull the motor and find something else to put in there. I'm probably going to Junction my GS and keep my merc classic, i'm actually thinking about the AMG kit for it. Very subtle and clean and looks great lowered. This car needs so much money and time I can't even begin to think about it again. I do miss driving it though :(

2jz-gte. I do believe there was a video either on here, but definitely on Youtube, of a W126 with a GTE swap in it. Something along those lines. It was awesome looking.

I looked into. I have 8-9 bookmarks and PDF's on it. I just don't think a high reving turbo 6 is the right motor for this car. I was thinking 1uz/400ci motor.

Go with the VVTi 1uz, it's got WAY more power than the first gen 1uz...well...if you are going with something like that, why not an LSx ? That could net you more power, and shoot, if you really wanted, you could supercharge it with ease heheh...

Ls1 is the likely candidate. Full injection will be easy and here in Minnesota i'm within walking distance of 3 places that could do the swap right on the cheap.
