ok, ssince VIP styling is startin to pick up here in the states, we will see more and more people getting used japanese wheels and used aero kits...... in japan the VIP style is getting simple and half way going toward dub style....... so in a few years japan's vip scene might start to want the old wheels were buying from them and the classic vip style aero because its what our scene looks like.........

But do you think they will try to copy the bastardized version of VIP that will no doubt become popular in the rest of the world?

I used to be very passionate about the loss of oldschool wild VIP when Japan copies USDM DUB, but now i am indifferent. Wide wheels will sell dirt cheap, and I am sure there will always be the hardcore enthusiasts that wont change. Wild VIP will still get an insane amount of attention anywhere in the world, and my collection of VIP mags will start becoming collectors items. Yay! :)

I like this thought. The US style becoming popular in Japan means there will be more used Japanese parts available for those not in Japan who like the former Japan style.

I would prefer Japanese rims to stay on the expensive side so we can have "exclusitivity" but then again, you can grab some used from Japan for a cheap cheap price.

I don't think wheel manufacturers throw away their casting molds or CNC programs, they put it away on a shelf thinking the demand might pick up again. I don't think we should be worried about trends, they will come and go. If you like something, stick with it, that's how some people become Gurus ;)

The trendy people in japan will try to infuse a little bit of US style into their cars (albeit, they'll still look a little better than when done in the US cuz their stances and fitments over there will always be a tad better than here), but the cycle will reach a point where those folks realize... this isn't cool anymore, and they will eventually, inevitably revert back to what they were doing before. Designs/fads/trends operate in cycles, and there will always be those who want to try something different... and whatever they end up settling on is usually what is the more universally attractive style
