View Full Version : Japanese Ramen, shio, shoyu, tonkotsu, miso ramen...
ever since my visit to japan, i got hooked on ramen soup.. not the 5 for a $1 instant ramen @ the supermarkets, but restaraunt ordered ramen..
man, that stuff was some gooooooood eats.. mmmmmm* :)
anyways.. does anybody know/ recommend any places in SoCal (anywhere from Chula Vista/ SD - LA) that serve ramen or comparable (maybe pho, etc..)?
also, i only tasted the shoyu version, are the others any good?

Once you get near LA, there's a bunch of places to go to.
Me and a few friends go to a place called Foo Foo Tei in Hacienda Heights and they also have one in Monterey Park.

after the money conversion it was around $6.50... heck i paid 3 bucks for a bottle of evian water... the dollar isn't that bueno out there..
you could cook that stuff? cool..
the stuff i tried in japan was way different from that instant ramen packages you could get at supermarket. *the noodles and soup were made from scratch.. (packed with flav'a) on top of that they threw in some sliced meat, shrooms, and a few veggies.. i even saw some with sliced hard boiled eggs..

I actually found Japan to be one alot cheaper than Europe during our last trip. Sure you *can* pay $3 for a bottle of water, but why would you when its less than $1 from a vending machine? Same with food; we went to some killer restaurants, and they were kinda pricey, but we also went to alot where we ate for around 500yen each (not sure what the conversion to USD is)
