showing comparison between stock and led festoon bulbs. will post more pics of other pieces as they get finished. hoping to have zion97 paint a bunch of pieces in 1 month so ill wait to finish my interior til i get the pieces back from him. pretty excited to have more woodgrain. i always thought it was pretty lame how ls430s you can change out almost any detachable plastic piece with real wood :signdammit: but f50 you can only get a lame stick-on dash kit.

haha i got it all done at a shop.. and i actually do have Some minor stitching on the visors ill take a better pic later. i wanted the visors to be subtle and i think they said they have a problem putting the diamond stitching on a lot of thin pieces or something.
they put apad under the rear pillar before stitching so its a nice tufted leather thats soft to the touch. i actually didnt even want gator on my pillar, they messed up LOL i was originally going to do gator accents on the sunroof, visors and B pillars. then do black leather with the double stitching on the entire roof and A,C and top half of B pillars. but it worked out i guess cuz its so hard to tell its even gator unless im in direct sunlight or camera flash. so people dont really notice. im usually not a fan of most animal print it looks tacky but i loved this one from when i first saw it.

actually it looks pretty good right now. theres kind of a 2tone brown and black theme goin on. but i am going to make all the tan parts leather eventually. i got tan plastic so thats why i made the stitching match the tan.

yes im from hawaii and yes its kinda pricey :yahoo_101: lol.
to Razzi; i Did actually end up changing my headliner because it was tan and i have a black on black car so it really bugged me. i guess it was a waste cause my headliner and pillars were all mint, but redoing it in black alcantara is probably just as expensive if not more.
i smoke in my car so i want as little fabric as possible, thats why i went with what i did. i kind of rushed my headliner i WAS gonna hold off for awhile but i decided to put more ceramic to help cool my car down so my headliner was off already anyway. heres what it looks like. http://photos-a.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sctm/v171/81/91/19513159/n19513159_31849520_2417.jpg
upholstery shop is taking extra long to finish. they were supposed to be done by today. :signdammit: ill have pics up when i get it back.
more importantly zion97 is doing a bunch of wood pieces right now for me and once i get those back my roof will really be complete. :runcoold:

shit man...im contemplating it. i went down to the shop again....to find my ceiling unfinished...again. :rules: i blew up at that immigrant and his wife got all in my face so i left before they called the cops. if they arent done by the weekend i cant even imagine what im going to do to him. He's the one that rescheduled the appointment for today since they werent ready last thursday. I even called last night to make sure the appointment was still on and he said yes.
ITS BEEN OVER 3 WEEKS with no headlining or pillars. that means i have wires dangling and curtain airbags exposed, the whole shabang. im so sick of this its not even funny. looks like my car is stolen. if i didnt order the material through them i would have taken back my parts and stage my car in his indoor shop n smoke his ass out before driving away. :3gears:
anyway if i dont post back here by next week, come bail me out cause they probably didnt finish again and i went postal.:saiyancrunks:

I know the feeling. Thats how it was with my air setup. Had to wait forever. The part that killed me was that I took it in on my vacation and it was suppost to have been done by the time I got back. Turns out they keept it for an extra 2-3 weeks and that meant I had to travel by public transportion to work and that took me 8 hours a day just traveling to and from work. I cant blame it entirely on the air suspension shop because the air sus company I went with, sent in the wrong parts initially.
Good luck. Im sure when its all done, you wont even care that it took forever.

Oh, im still mad :saiyancrunks: after taking a month i expected nothing short of perfection. But it wasnt. so i told him off again and paid him half of the original price. this shop is so lame, if there were more hawaii people on VSC id make a post so everyone knows how retarded these guys were. what is it with shops down here and horrible customer service and no business ethics. i cant even get a hold of my audio installer again. :slap: sick of it. if i wasnt waist deep in parts in this project id sell it and start fresh.

it is...some of the other pics i took look waaay different. depends on the lighting and flash. its a lot darker than mine. the grains are nice though.
edit:hey maybe i could start a trend with mulitple types of woodgrain in one car. lol. add some charcoal wood here and there
zion_97

the wood grain color seems off.
Yeah that was a very very hard wood grain to duplicate color wise..becuase it is real wood and not fake like the Y33..With real wood grain like his it appeared darker, lighter, yellower, oranger and goes on...it is hard to match %100 to the real deal...I had to spray orangeish pearls and yellow pearls to get the color to flip flop a little bit when there was direct light on it..but if there is no direct light it will appear darker than the other pieces..
ex.
http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j298/q45t07/8086-1.jpg
this lighting shows a pretty good match at least %90..
these parts dont look like a %90 match but if you look on where the sun hits the paint notice that color matches the the piece I was sent...
http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j298/q45t07/80814.jpg
ITs hard paint something like this and with widebodyq's parts I thought were difficult but this color wood was nearly impossible to match in all lighting sources.. I did my best...
I know even in my LEXUS LS470 that uses real wood grain parts..they all dont match..my center consoles is darker/reder than my steering wheel..THe door pieces are oranger than my navigation souround...no excusess just I did the best I could to match it in direct sunlight and in darker areas..I bet when the doors are closed and no flash they probably look really nice..
I hope that jaynick808 was satisfied with the results..
MAn that interior looks sick..love the double stitching..PIMP!

lol ill keep that in mind when i pick up my Q. but i think the stock wood grains are perfect as it is because it makes you feel surrounded in luxury. the other wood grain on the bottom armrest kind of throw off the flow.
but the gator looks fucking sick man. glad you got it back.

vzuptnguyen: yes i gave that shop half. fck em. but didnt i post that already? lol. and honestly while youre in the car you cant see the bottom woodgrain, which is what i was going for. so it doesnt ruin the flow of the woodgrain too much while youre in it.
i just think it looks fukn sick when u pull up to valet or whatever and people step out the car and theres led lights and wood everywhere.
errr i hate when cars have little slivers of wood. :rules:

yeah it came out extra busy. the shop didnt match up the pattern on the pillars to flow with the headliner more. so the designs clash a little as they connect. its okay though only cost me a few hundred. can redo it if i feel like it. if only i could find another reputable shop...
my car feels like a lounge now its so dark it sets a relaxing mood. not to mention i have so much ceramic and insulation on my car now that it feels like im ridin in a white on white car with 5% tint. =)

Nikons are the shiat mayng,,well so are canons ..I actually have a D50 and lots of folks say that DSLR are hard to use but I thought just opposite. Very easy to use and the colors you get are so vibrant and lifelike. I will never buy a point and shoot again. My next camera will have to be the D80 or the D200....
One thing I would recommend. When taking pics. write down your settings for future reference, will save you lots of time.

THIS IS THE MONEY SHOT RIGHT HERE. Color looks great to me..I know its off a little in other lighting but like I said I wanted to match it up as close as possible to how it would look in the car with no direct sunlight.
Sick BRO just SICK..this is VIP interior all the way!!!!!!!!!

damn...i bust a nut. hahaha
its nice seeing progress from everyday blue collar. not some sponsored car.
what size is your fusa, does it get in the way of your screen?
jaynick808
03-23-2008, 08:27 PM
lol what? alot of people dont have sponsors. i wish i was sponsored for something good (big brakes or wheel/tires) but im not feeling stickers, especially those huge windshield banners and all that. id rep it at shows or whatever but Never daily. i should look into getting some kind of sponsorship down the line when the car is more worthy of asking for discounted/free parts.
i have a medium size fusa, and it doesnt block the screen. lol were you planning on putting a large size? thats too nuts for me. a lot of people run the huge ones in cima's down here. its funny you can see the white ones from down the block.

nothin much goin on here. waiting on some parts in customs and waiting for body shop, audio shop, and upholstery shop to get back to me. it appears as if everyone is on hawaiian time. :pat:
its been over a year since i started buying parts for this car and its taking way too long to come together. i usually build and sell within the year.
already planning ahead for 2010 when i sell this car and pick up a tesla roadster. kekekeke :giggity: nah on the real tho gas prices are brutal and my car is only getting heavier and less efficient. so its either tesla or that new lexus hybrid yaris lookin thing. sucks to be tall though.

Oh wow. Sh!t is on point! The double stitch is crazy. Im lovin the woodgrain too. How much was the total?!:pat:

it cost enough... im not big ballin like some of the other guys here.
i had to put off sending more things to zion97 cuz i quit my travel agency, and finally got around to getting my airsus. hopefully my new job gives me hours so i can finish the rest of the woodgrain while my cars in the bodyshop.
i also wanted to do my armrest and doorpanels in double stitching, but i saw that racinstylez beat me to it, not to mention i dont know of any other high end upholstery shop since the last "quality" upholstery shopped sucked ass. mostly in customer service, which is important to me. so i guess ill put that off again.
im currently hacking up my ashtray and center console to fit some goodies. will post pics later when im thru i hate posting half way done things.
