Just bought a UCF 10 and want to go VIP with it. In regards to wheels/suspension - what suspensions are available for the car?

Want to go pretty deep dish with the car but heard that the UCF 10s fenders are a bitch to pull -- any suggestions as to where I should get fenders rolled? I heard aerodyne does really good work in regards to pulling fenders, but I'm still not sure which option I should choose -- if I do get it pulled I'll more likely than not be paying a visit to the guys over at http://www.aerodyne.net/

In regards to wheels - I really want to get a set of dish wheels. I read a thread stating that low disk is the "VIP" way to go - so I plan on doing that -- and I'm pretty sure I'm set on getting a set of AME AXs with a high disk in the front and low disk in the rears... however, what would be the best width/offset for my UCF 10?

probably gonna start shopping around fetch VIP or memoryfab to pick me up a set of cheap pimp dish wheels sometime soon..

great forum, great reading while i'm at work, any helpful input would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks in advance,

does anyone with a UCF 10 have the data systems air ride controller hooked up to their car as well?

What options for suspension do I have aside from Air Runner?

the wheel supply (http://www.thewheelsupply.com/about.jsp)
some say you should cut the fenders of a ucf10 (http://vipstylecars.com/forum/index.php?topic=3012.0)

width and offset is dependent on what you want to do.* clearly you're willing to roll your fenders.*

I'm pretty sure the UCF11 is the same years as the UCF10, same with the UCF20/21 etc

UCF11 in Japan has air suspension (its the top of the line model), and it was available from 1989-1993 just like the lower UCF10 models...
There is the MC-before and MC-after (also known as Zenki/Kouki) which describes the minor model change during the UCFxx model range

does the UCF10 also have air suspension too? I was maybe even considering a DataSystems Air Ride Controller.

uncle el -

seems as if you and a couple others are the UCF gurus.

does everyone here on this forum with stretched tires/tucking wheels buy new tires every other month??

I feel as if there has to be a way to maintain such a tucking wheel without running ur tires to shit every other month, no?

You might want to do some searching and reading over the last few pages of some of the more important sections to get a better grip of VIPstyle.

I think in the RASRX7's thread (a few down below), he mentioned needing new tires after about a month of rolling in his Weds Kranze Cerebrus II.

I think he was having some toe problems normally camber will not wear tires that fast...

Yea I was about to say that it wasn't normal camber wear because AMEVIP has been doing ok with his tires (at least from what I know since the 1000mile mark).

Proper wheel alignment and adjusted driving style should prevent excessive tire-wear. If you like flicking the tail-end out or auto-xing your car then stretch+camber isnt for you.

But remember that 235/40R18s stretched on an 18x10 is not an expensive tyre size...

Btw, not sure if the US got the air-suspensioned UCF1x Celsiors. I have heard people talking about them on ClubLexus, so it is a possibility. If you dont have it from the factory dont bother trying to retrofit it, its cheaper and easier to just get aftermarket... Anyway, the factory bags dont like being deflated and die (pop/leak) quickly when messed with the controllers...

How long does a set of tires last you? My rears last me 1 yr and the fronts 1.5 yrs.

zenki and kouki have to do with the q45, not the ls400.

as far as ucf10/11, ucf20/21, ucf30/31 there seems to be some debate as to what it actually means/represents., some say that the 0 is for the initial car, and the 1 is the designation after any minor change (mc)... but then again, the minor change only refers to the ucf20/21.* however, others say that the 1 is the designation for air suspension... and yet others say that the 0 vs. 1 depends on the country of origin of the car.* i suppose in the overall scheme of things, it's irrelevant.

ucf10 90-92 (ls400)
ucf11 93-94

ucf20 95-97
ucf21 98-00

ucf30 01-03 (ls430)
ucf31 04-07

ucf40 07- (ls460)

maybe i should have written it this way:

ucf10/11 (ls400)
series i 90-92
series ii 93-94

ucf20/21 (ls400)
major change
series iii 95-97 before minor change
series iv 98-00 after minor change

ucf30/31 (ls430)
major change
series i 01-03
series ii 03-06

ucf40 (ls460)
major change
series i 07-

That sounds better. Wasnt sure about the kouki/zenki part (literally translated they mean "early model" and "late model"), but I am pretty sure about the 0/1 part because it is standard for almost all of the Toyota luxury range in Japan (crowns, soarers, celsiors)

Even the Estima/Previa has the TCR10 (live Axle) vs. TCR11 (IRS). It seems to refer to the suspension setup i believe

Would this fitment fit an UCF 10??

Front: 20x8.5 with +38 offset
Rear: 20x10 with +35 offset

what kind of wheels and what suspension/ any fender work and what kind of tires will you run. All of this plays a part.

did you read the info posted earlier?!:

19inch x 9.0j + 36 Special-Low-Disk

Rear
19inch x 10.5j + 30 Special-Low-Disk
245/35 ZR19 275/30 ZR19

the wheel specs that you posted aren't as wide, and the offset isn't as low as the ones i posted. so, unless you mean on a stock body without any fender modifications (which they won't), it would seem obvious...

Please be careful rolling your fenders. There are two spots on the flange that will cause wrinkling if not cut out.

Heed my advice...I've gone through it before. TRUST ME!
