I have looked everywhere to figure out what these wheels are. I have seen them in old early-mid 90's Japanese video and i have seen them on a few VIP cars. Funny enough there is a set that looks exactly like them in Gran Turismo under Rays. But i have people tell me they are Work's. Now when i bought them used from Japan, they cam with no sticker on the inside of the wheels, but they do say "Made In Japan" on the inside of the wheel. So does anyone have a clue? Thanks for any help.

Those are Rays, I'm pretty sure. I have no idea what they're called though

hmm..... the drifter guys that use those wheels call them "Starform"
i have the same style wheels but they are Weds (they are stamped in the back and the center cap says Farmas)
i think the first picture are Weds, second Work, and third are the Zauber dish.
the first picture has the same style bolts as my wheels... but they dont have the "Farmas" center caps.
are you sure those wheels arent stamped anywhere on the back? mine say Weds Farmas DP-V8 in the spokes.

The ones you have posted, have alot more "rounded" holes between the spokes than my wheels. So i don't think they are Work's now.

Now that i really look at the second pic, the holes are more rounded. So that goes with the link that Brianlin87 posted. So now it's up to the Ray's or Zauber's.

The Wed's look exactly the same also, but they don't have as much lip. So i don't know if they made any high offset no lip versions. I could'nt find any markings on the back of the wheel when i got them, so no clues there. I also don't have the Farmas centercap like you said, they are just plain ones.

So i am confused to all hell. I really want to go with they are Ray's, but i can decide.

When you have a wheel that is indiscernible like that, and with such a common design (especially for that vintage), it's pretty much futile to try and really determine the exact make and model of wheel. I suppose it would be nice to be able to tell people exactly what you have, but if you can't even figure it out after a lot of research, it's better to just assume it's one of the possible choices, and stick to it (and hope that you one day run into someone who can disagree with you because they actually do know the difference). The wheel on the white Q45 in the front 3/4 shot are old Work Ryvers.. spokes are angled in to form triangular holes. If I was to offer an educated guess from, I'd assume the mystery wheels were Weds also, regardless of whether they say so or not on the wheel....

First wheel is the same as Merc 17" AMG Spit rim's on the old SL models made for AMG by OZ, they look like replica's though.

The other wheels are Work VS series, called Work Touring, genuine 3 piece. My friend has a custom set on his VW Golf in 17".

They stopped making them about 3 years ago though. Back in the day a set of 17" was over £2.5k.

David_H, that work wheel looks nothing like the wheel from the original post. You might want to consider getting your eyes checked.

I agree with oneton, its a futile attempt trying to figure out what that wheel is. Hoestly its probably just another knock off since there is no sticker or stamp on the wheel identifying who made it.

There are so many companies that made that style of wheel in the 90's .. Work, Rays, Stich,Zauber, SSR, Stern, Leasing, MAE, Weds..etc.. the list goes on and on.. not to confuse you, but I have seen a set of Stich that look exactly like that only made in high-offset....

New is not really an option for me right now, and i love those wheels i have, very unique. If i bought new wheels i would prob get some Advan SA3R's. This is a Mitsu Mirage Turbo anyway, not a VIP platform.

What does it matter? I agree with socalvip, there are waaay too many mfr's with that face design.

What are you trying to do? Are you trying to find a replacement for a damaged one?

Chris
