After reading some of the other posts in this forum. I'd like to see someone put their money where their mouth is on being "Open Minded."
I'd like to see some NON-VIP cars that inspire you. Get out of the frame of mind that JP style is all there is, and show me that open minded stuff ya'll always talk about. I'll start it off.

oh you were trying to stay away from Japanese style with this post, my bad for some reason I saw that and thought Junction Produce :uglystupid2: and was like oh he does not want VIP style cars... ah well I like all those cars just the same. Yeah I love the 190E, to bad he is drifting it and not racing it on a track.

Standard125, it seems like your trying to strech our minds enough to accept Benzs as VIP or something. I know you haven't been here long, but you will soon learn that ALMOST NONE OF US BELIEVE THAT JP STYLE IS ALL THERE IS. On top of that, what the hell do you mean by JP style, no such style, infact, Junction Produce Products are quite diversified at that, so I really don't know where you were going with that, perhaps its just wrong wording, but its offensive for you to believe that we have a closed mind. If anything, this group of people on this board have a more broader appreciation for all styles, as well as a greater understanding. Many of the people here found this style as a natural progression of all other styles. There are people here from the Euro community, the Dub community, the JDM Spo-Com community, the Drift community, etc. As far as VIP goes, yes the people here are protective of the style, as true enthusiast, we would like to see VIP stay true to its roots and not get 'bastardized' by American interpretations. I would hope that you would open up your EYES and begin to understand our intensions and backgrounds before making a post sounds condescending and rude.
That being said, here are styles and cars that I draw inspiration from:

I didn't mean to stir anything up. Just wanted to see what you like. Posts like this stretch your mind. You might see something you never considered before. I'm not trying to stretch the VIP style, but I don't find it very well defined in the US.
That said the wild Mercedes that continue to surface in Japan from Konig, Styling Garage, Wald, ABC, and to some extent AMG tell me that Mercedes is or was accepted as part of the Japanese VIP scene. This my not be true at the present time however it was true in the '80's & '90's.

Actually I do find inspiration there; not for ideas on how to mod my ride, but the culture. The guys who do those trucks in Japan are fiercely nationalist (somewhat bordering on racist/right wing beliefs). Its the proud Japanese that wont try to immitate the American DUB style or anything else. The type of guy who builds these trucks also do the Yankee and Club Racer style cars and the wilder VIP cars. Art Truck is one of the last Japanese trends to 'sell out' and copy overseas styles...
This is what I do for a living. The color poobably isn't to everyones taste, but you can't please everyone. Just the customer.
You are right about the colour, but I do like the idea of taking a vehicle which was built for ONE purpose, and modifying it to a point where it can no longer perform that one purpose. Takes alot of guts to do that!

The main difference I suppose is the wheels. Not the style, but the size. However, by definition this car is on the fringe of the VIP style because is is not a Japanese brand nor is it a four door. Am I correct?

But by definition "VIP style" can be done to any car. But a VIP CAR it is not.
You said by definition this car is on the fringe of the VIP style because is is not a Japanese brand nor is it a four door. Am I correct?
Wrong! It is STYLED VIP but it is not by definition a VIP CAR. That is why this forum is here, to see what other types of cars can be styled VIP.

anyways....benz's are considered VIP in japan. WHEN DONE WITH THE TRADITIONAL JAPANESE INFLUENCE. You cannot do a euro car the euro way. It is generally not classified as VIP at that point.

What is your main purpose of coming to VIPSTYLECARS.COM?
Im going to quote your question again.
by definition this car is on the fringe of the VIP style because is is not a Japanese brand nor is it a four door. Am I correct?
The Benz that OneTon posted is NOT on the "fringe" of VIP style. It is VIP styled.
Then you go on to say "because its not a japanese brand"... it is not a traditional VIP Car, but it is VIP styled.
Are we scratching the tip of your head yet? Or are you so totally confused :crazy2:

this was posted on another thread in here...
So what determines a model's success in the Vip styling world?
The Vans and Wagons have thier own style of VIP............ so do Sedans. If I see alot of VIPstyled out bB / Scions and folks are drooling then its VIPstyle to me. I see a VIPstyled Benz or Jag at a car meet / event and no one is really talking to the owner or drooling over his ride and like only 1 or 2 of them show up. NOT VIPcar so thats why no one likes his Benz or Jag.
Then you have a VIPcar who only has wheels and tint.......... alot fo folks give him suggestions and how to fix it up he is welcomed. VIP
Just because its in the VIP magazine a Jag or Benz that does NOT make it VIP I see it as trying to sell VIP style parts to them. The crowd at a VIP meet is whats makes it VIP
so who decides ............ ??? The VIPcar folks that own one. NOT the owner of JP or any of the other big names out there they want to make a BUCK.
I see alot of USA guys making a buck off the NONE VIPcar so what but am I going to say wow nice VIPstyle car you have there. NO WAY!!

K, I guess I'll quote the same thing that I was sent to for a definition. ALL the cars listed are 4 doors.
"Its not a VIP Car unless it starts with one of these cars. From Toyota, you have the Century, Celsior, Aristo, Crown, and Majesta. From Nissan you have the President, Cima, Gloria, Cedric, and the Q45."
"European cars can fall within the “definition of a VIP car” but isn't as popular of a platform mainly because of an untold requirement. VIP Car has a sense of pride within the Japanese community on its luxury vehicles."
I understand then that the CL600 above is VIP STYLE, but not a VIP CAR. However, it has so many things going against it by definition.
#1 It's a coupe
#2 It's Euro
#3 The kit is smooth and rounded. Euro Style.
#4 It's not laying rocker
All that I see that goes in it's favor is
#1 Wheel fitment
#2 Negitive Camber
I am here because I like this style car, and if there are friendly people who like to share information here: I want to learn what I can. Not to try and get in the middle of this, but your comment about the fact that the kit is smooth and rounded and hence more Euro style is not quite right. The current trend in VIP bodykits is exactly like that, subtle, OEM looking yet still fat. In fact alot of the kits try to emulate the AMG style of bodykits...

The point I was trying to make is exactly what the afore mentioned car proves. That even though it has so many things going against it as a "VIP CAR" it is still accepted as "VIP STYLE." There is some latitude in the definition.
As to the second comment. I meant nothing rude in the comment. I was perusing the Club Lexus Bashing Thread, and thought that it would be fun and interesting to see what you guys are into besides the VIP CARS. I have seen lots of threads of pictures with your favorite cars of the VIP STYLE. However, none of some outside sources of inspriation. It's not really even about it being inspirational in form or function. Maybe you just thought the color was unbelievable.
I don't mean to step on toes. I would like to apoligize if I have offended you.

This is nothing new. The whole VIPCar movement seems to have stemmed from the strength of the yen in the eighties that made the original AMG/ABC/Styling Garage cars find their way to Japan. Even today you can see the influence that the OG euro style made on what is now VIPstyle.
I found this car for sale(in Japan), and although I find it hideous; I would love to own it for its sheer ostentatiousness. I believe my car and these cars are the forefathers of VIPCars. :smitten:

to me, i would say benz is as just as vip as it is the style. I have seen many of the "yakuza" drive them. its a luxo vehical. Its not like a car that wasnt before an turned into one. Its one from the get go. Mercedes, is vip in my mind as much as ls430s. But i dont like people sayin my E300 or any e class or c380, is vip. ITS NOT. Its a sports sedan. A 500s, 600s, are modded by fabulous. Now i have seen those cars debuted in many salon shows, in vip catagory. (DOH) i guess it is considered vip??
One Mercedes has the price tag on its higher up models to over class that which is considered a vip vehical in japan. Not saying that price has to do with everything.. but its priced to pertain to a certain market.. Very important people... or just kids with money. Two, a Mercedes has more features then most ls430s combined. In a lot of sence, i dont see why my S55 cant be "VIP" I see it in Vip books and buyers guide.. Things I can buy for my VIP Mercedes.. so i guess they consider it vip..
Three, you say a gs300, 400 can be vip. What i see wrong with that is: "isn't it a sports sedan?? not a luxary car?" And if junction produce makes a kit for it an considers it Vip, an you guys consider it vip.. then it must right? But whats diffrent of a GS then a E300 benz?? other then the make. motor is the same, a 6cyl or 8, same length, an same class.
I under stand coupe being more of an argument then a euro car compared to japanese for title of vip. But when someone rolls up in a brand new rolls, with deep ass wheels on it. I will call it vip, cause your ass has to have money to buy it there for.. they are a very import person-drug dealer.. lol
this may be all to much to read or what ever, an not really defending the fact i have a "Un-Vip euro car" but i will vip it out, you will see MUAHAHA

umm... VIP in its truest sense is not a European car. Get the idea that VIP means Very Important Person out of your head. This is a style, not simply defined by 'important people' or expensive four door, etc. While your mercedes is certainly nice, and has more amenities than a LS430 (your opinion, not mine... I dont think you have ever riden in a LS430 Ultra Luxury), that does not qualify it as VIP.

i have.. i wouldnt mind owning one. But i guess its a matter of opinion as well. But i guess what i am trying to say is vip isnt pertained to just people.. sorry for wording it like that. But still doesnt answer my question on how a gs300 can be vip... not vip style. But what you are saying, is that its not what is done to the car.. but the make of the car. That classes it as "Vip". ??? Cause a benz can have all the ammenities as any japanese car that classes it as "vip" but still is a euro style? I guess I dont think its euro cause it seems the like to fuk stuff up by putting gotti crap on it. (eyes of the beholder i guess) But i dont see a s55 with 19in leon hairdryers(what i call them anyway) an a fabulous kit as a sports or exe style. But judges at shows sayin this here bmw 325 is straight vip.. i say no. lol but it happends here. a lot.
But i guess what i am asking is whats the diff between a japanese car an a european car has to do with vip, other then the fact where they are made from.. when benzes have been vip'd out since there was vip modifying

My lord, there is an article listing the 10 cars that form the foundation of Vip. It's been posted a bajillion times so it won't be hard to find either. There is a difference between luxury, V.I.P. and Vip.
Now, pictures of cars that roxxors my boxxors:
-I like stock JDM front DC2 (no DC5, boo) ITRs (this one isn't JDM, just a conversion)
