I just purchase a 94 Cedric. And I love it... I'm new to the VIP Style, so I my best to do it right. Can anyone help me get some clear tail lights? I have already change out the headlights with some PIAA bulbs, gives it a purple-ish shine and the fog light to the CATZ Rising Yellow... If anyone has tips on bodykits and turbos, that would be greatly appreicated... Thanks in advance...

Woohoo! Another Y32 Cedric! LOL
How good are you at DIY stuff? I just finished turning my lights from stock like yours to crystal-cut red-clear. Total cost of materials was about $25 (red taillight tint, chrome paint, masking tape) and admittedly about 5 or 6 hours, but compared to ordering them from Japan and waiting several weeks it was worth it!

Alternatively if you are just after plain clear taillights, go to upgarage.com, they sell there for around 4000yen
Bodykits; K-break make the nicest looking one, but its a bit pricey. Upgarage mentioned above also has alot of secondhand bodykits - there is a Junction Produce one on there for under 40,000yen
There is a Samurai kit on Yahoo auctions which i think looks very nice, and its only 45,000yen brand new.
Not sure about turbos... mine is just N/A :(

My engine is 3.0L VG30DE, I assuming that's N/A as well... I've been to the Junction Produce and damn! I love the stuff the had but the prices are crazy... Next, on the chopping block will the interior lights... Are familiar with the Hyper Rev books... I want to order Vol. 20, the one on Cedrics, Glorias and Cimas... I wanted to know if its a book worth getting or know...
Oh, to answer your question DIY is an option...

To tell the truth, i dont think the hyper-rev Vol 20 is that great. They sell on Yahoo for around 1000 yen so that might be alright for you (assuming you live in Japan); I had to pay nearly $50 for it here in Australia. It came out a long time ago (late nineties), and most of the kits they describe in there are no longer in production. Its light on info, and doesnt push the boundaries on what wheels will fit or radical suspension info.
I found more info reading the articles on Y32 Cedrics/Glorias in VIPCar and VIPStyle magazines!
My best purchase to date is the full service manuals for this car. Cost a fair bit, but it has sooo much info in it. I could pull this car down to the chassis and put it all back together with these books!
Anyway, you have the same engine as me. Mine's a 94 as well. Does yours have a digital speedo? Monitor in the dash? (mine doesnt, but i'm going to retrofit the digital speedo)
Here are some kits which i like:
K-Break: http://k-break.com/vlux/y32cedglo.html
Samurai Aero http://www.tenkafubu.com/top.htm --> http://www.tenkafubu.com/catalog/cont/kage-y32-f.htm
Both of these kits are not too low. Alot of Cedric kits are very low, and it means you cannot lower the front at all (look on the net, most cedrics with kits arent lowered). With the kits above you can slam them right down.
Coilovers, use Yahoo Auctions or UpGarage for JIC, TEIN or If you are feeling rich, hit Garage Magical up for some custom coilovers (start at 210,000yen though)!
I havent messed with the interior lights, but how cool are the mood lights and pillar lights? Pure pimp material!
I'll try to finish up the writeup about the taillights later this week. Will post it up here when i am done
Btw, whats done to it at the moment? I spy some aftermarket sideskirts and rear lip. Lowered? Wheel specs?

Most of the Cedrics in that use the K-Break bodykit, its *very* popular

Believe it or not the car came like that!!! I'm not even gonna tell you how much I paid for it (next to nothing). I will tell you that she only has 26,000km on it! Barely driven! She also has a horn that will wake the dead and a wood grain Nardi Torino steering wheel.
Tell do you have a Autobacs where you live? We have one here and I tell ya, it's like being a candy store. They were the ones that help me with the headlights and the fog lights. I have to go back for the high beams though.
To answer your question, no digital speedo. I went to upgarage.com and yahoo auctions... They were in Japanese, so I have find a friend to interept them for me, lol. If you find a english site, please let me know...
Thank you for the heads up on the Hyper Rev Vol. 20!

LOL on Yahoo & UpGarage, yes i kinda assumed you could speak Japanese ;)
There are some good online dictionaries and translation tools though. Unfortunately there is not much info on these cars in English (hence why i had to buy the Japanese service manuals), and i am lucky i can chat to Japanese Cedric owners for advice!
I actually didnt pay much for mine, but i got a car with a buggered engine, some cosmetic defects and a fair bit of rust. Will not be so cheap once i have fixed the rust (engine has already been replaced).
I'm sure you got a much better deal (but I have the privilege of owning one of the only cedrics in Australia!). 26,000kms! Lucky bastard!
Here's another tip: Get an aftermarket temp gauge. These cars overheat like a bitch when there are problems in the cooling system. Mine had only 78,000kms on it when the engine friend

Dominik thank you for the help, I really appreciate it. If you need anything from Japan, I'll try to help as best as I can. Take note though, I just moved here so I'm still learning my way around but I do know how to the local Autobacs and Yellowhat! LOL
