Great examples. When I first saw that photoshoot of Nick's car with the rest of the AF crew, I fell in love. A year later, I bought Nick's wheels. HybridAristo has my dream wheels though. I love his car as well.
When I saw Freddie's LS430, it was love at first sight. After seeing that JTuned photoshoot I had to build a VIP car.

AutoFashion had a few cars at the Auto Show in San Diego a couple years back.
I had never seen anything like it, I thank AF for my exposure entirely...
And I blame them for making me want a VIP ride even though I just paid off my '04... hahaha

To be honest, I stumbled across some RC car bodies that were Cedrics and Glorias Somewhat VIP styled. I had no clue what they were. I researched the car itself and stumbled across VIP styled cars for real...once found out that people actually stretch tires on purpose i was hooked. Found everything i could find about VIP cars. This was back when VIP was all about the wild kits with large front scoops, whale tails, super deep wheels, wild exhaust tips, crazy stuff. EXE, EuroStyle (like the stuff you posted) hadn't been developed yet.
Pretty much got hooked a long time ago.
The website is no longer available and i can't seem to locate a sample pic, but there was a website with a funny name SkipperStreetLife or something like that, it used to cover all the Makuhari Messe shows as well as Yokohama Daikoku PA meets. That's where i first got hipped to the whole VIP style thing. Probably back in 1997 or 1998.
LOL i just remembered...Vans looked like Tranformer Dragonflies. It was wild looking. I think they still do these too LOL!

I just remember always seeing pictures of VIP cars back when i still owned a 240. Always admired but never thought i'd ever get one because i thought to myself. "Damn that is too baller for me." Then one day i saw Antbo's gangster ass GS300 and it made me want to get a 4 dr big body sedan. After finding out my girl was prego it was time to step it up and cop a Lexus and that's what i did. AF will always be a strong influence on me. They're my homies.
I believe there's already a thread like this.

I found vsc by luck back when there was like 100 members. I was on everyday and couldnt get enough of the LS430 and Q45 F50. 6 months later I got a F50 and finially registered (didnt want to make a sn for a car I didnt have) It would of been funny if I would of made the sn widebodyLS and then wind up not getting an LS :smiley-rofl:

I absolutely love racing and street cars derived from it.
But amongst the 911s, GT-Rs, FD2s, FD3S, Foxbodys, Vettes, M3s, and Ferraris
I have always made room for those cars that are meant for different purposes.
Lowriders, 4X4s, Minitrucks, Luxerycars, and others.
VIP was just an addition to the family.
I remember learning about Junction Produce 4 years ago and how back a few years ago when i was telling people about VIP, everyone said it was rice.
"WHY IS IT ON THE GROUND?" OR "OMG WHAT DID HE HIT, WHY IS HIS REAR WHEEL SIDEWAYS?"
I was like "that's what makes it cool, airbags and that lip" They were like, whatever man, im a go read about Type R Hondas.

friends of mine read VIP CAR and VIP Style magazine, and a couple actually own VIP style lexus LS's, one being a black 98 LS400 and the other a white 04 LS430, the 98 is full JP outfitted and running air runner suspension. i myself just got a silver 93 GS300 (pics soon!!). i particularly love the *ZS141 majesta and have 3 1/24 aoshima super vip series model kits of the car (K-Break, Junction Produce, Garson) which are in various stages of being built, as well as the JP century, and luxy2 series 14 aristo which i will build as a replica of my own car.

For me, I got really interested in the vip tuning scene from looking at all the vip featured cars on jtuned. There are so many beautifully tuned cars on there, but for me, it was always the vip tuned ones that looked the best. Here are some of the cars that I think are inspirational:
Nick Fouseki's 2001 Infinity Q45T

I remember when you attended the DUB show in SF and they placed it right by the rig. And to tell you the truth, I bet the owner of DUB was so inspired by your GS that he later built a vip project LS430 with Wald kit/Auto Couture Magnifiques. =)

I started because its thew cool thing to do. Have u noticed that there are shops popping up that are VIP now!!!!!!!!!! I want to be just liek them! JK what started me was that once a tuner always a tuner and this is the only thing that can be tuned and keep it japanese!!!! I dont like DUB and im over the JDM thing. I cant see myself buying a classy ride that is american. So i turned to this. Still a tuner and always will be a tuner!!!!!!

For me i'm just getting in to the vip style. I love driving hondas and as soon as i can i'm getting me anothor one. But i can't drive them now do to 2 many tickets :) If i get one more i'll lose my lisence and that means i lose my job. So i know that i need to get something different hopefully the 20s and the air suspention will stop me from getting in to more trubel. But you never know. ( i got a parts car 00 Q45 black and i was thinking of taking the diff out and welding it so i can try drifting the big v8- i dont think i'm going to do that but you never know one weekend can get really boring ;)

Well I've always had "race cars" I guess you would say, a couple RB swapped 240's, a couple 400+hp DSM's, a few swapped Hondas, and I still have my RX7, as with any car like that they all rode like ass, had no AC, were constantly always breaking down etc. etc. so after the last time the motor in my RX7 blew I ended saying screw it I want a nice car for once, and since I had always loved clean VIP style car, I parked the RX7, as it sits now in my driveway lol. Then began the test so off I went looking for a car. Origionally I started looking for an IS300 but then I saw my Cedric and it was love at first sight haha. Thats my story.

i've done the whole JDM scene. I still have my DA but think of it as a toy/weekend track warrior only. I can't drive it daily. I purchased a CB7 and tried to VIP/JDM the car with a few parts. that went well for a awhile. I just didn't see myself driving an accord. Sold it and finally jumped into the odd side of the VIP car scene the KA9. I was originally gonna purchase a GS300 Aristo or a 97 BMW M3 but I see too many out on the road already. noticed VIP cars as early as 2003?
saw some drift tengoku vids with chasers, aristos, etc. "...that shit is hot."

now that she is pregnant with twins, we are taking it to the next level. looking at getting 2001^ GS300 when we move back to San Diego next month. just gonna go more "EXE" style than VIP, since it needs to be practical for her to drive around with two bundles of joy in the back... just some tein CS and flush 18's.

I seen hotrods, seen lowriders, seen the american import so it typical that i would find the VIP style.
I like it because it not the type of cars that says looks at me it more of a elgant upgrade for the car.
Right now I own a Ford Fiesta 2005 model and though of making some upgrade but there is the cash thing.

i've always been into luxury cars, i've gone through mercedes and lexus way before vip was known. i guess the way i see it is honda scene is dying, yeah its a trend that everyone is doing now a days. im not doing it to go big or to be known, it's time to move on to bigger and better things.
i have to say its the amazing wheel setups on alot of vips that got me. i love wheels. alot!!
but the fact that i have kids and need a 4dr(well i dont think i need a four door but my wife thinks i do and married guys will tell you what wife says goes most of the time.) but now that i have a 4dr i can buy a vert now.
plus i love the allaround of the GS--- and cars like it. i have an IS300 now not a vip platform i know but the comfort and performance is awsome plus its still luxury and can do 150mph look good doing it and still ride comfy enough for the family to jump in and take a trip.
my next car will probly be a gs300 or 430 and then a s2000
