Default White Static Low Y33 - My first vip car here we go

What's up guys. I've been on here for a minute but haven't had a chance to start a build thread. It won't be much but bolt ons and goodies until I graduate and get a real job.

    99 Q45- white on tan
Up to around 150k miles now and loving every minute=]

the week I picked her up

I gotta say I enjoyed cruising a grandpa looking car and staying under the radar from cops. My cars tend to stand out like sore thumbs lol

Then I went against my own golden rule and got wheels before suspension (was really waiting for the pbm vips to arrive). 18x10, 18x12

    pbms installed

front not getting low enough. I ended up having to remove, chop stuff, and reinstall so the dampers went down farther for more travel. That obviously only helped damper stroke, not the ride height, so I ended up chopping the springs.. ya I know real vip lol had to do it on my college budget

    test fit the shelbies

    got her sitting alright

I had a shop put in a simple fucking axle in while I was at work and got it back with my door looking like this:

Ok so they said theyd pay to fix it. meanwhile I filed a small claims suit the same day just to cover my ass just in case. I stop by the next day and the entire shop was cleared out and the landlord told me he moved to miami.

Anyway I got 5% tint and I couldnt stand how embarrassing the front lips on the shelby wheels were, so I decided to sell them. Bought these puppies off CL for 300 bucks with new tires just to hold me over

Was bored and since the tires on the front of the shelbies were the same and I had spacers to fine tune, I ran the two faced look for about a week before I sold them hehe

Thanks man! Huge fan of your car and that onicamber

    Snagged a gt grill

    converted my trunk to 97-98

another day in the life figured you guys might enjoy this pic. lol spot the replica!

got some paint work done. trunk panel and door fixed

working on a little something here...

I plan to finish those this weekend.

My fitment and ride height need some work but I've got different size spacers on route and removed my primary cats, all mufflers, and tucked it way up so I can get as low as I want

So many Y33 builds popping up lately seems like everyone all at once decided to go with these year models now haha...
That statement doesn't take anything away from your build very nice and looking forward to updates

Appreciate it. It probably has to do with the fact that they are so damn cheap. IMO these are easily one of the most undervalued cars on the used market. I picked mine up for 3.8k with 118k last winter, completely mint besides for some scuffs on the bumpers from city parking. You really cant find a much nicer car for that price. USDM non-tourings are stupid ugly stock though IMO lol

Thanks dude. I'm all about the front fitment being comparable to the rear. Not big on crazy staggered set ups or uneven camber front to rear. Just my personal style, which is why those 18x10/12s werent for me. And yeah thanks, my mom's house is very stylish haha. It would be nice for a photoshoot but you can tell in the bottom left that it needs some siding and work done

here's a clip of the exhaust. Im really happy with how it turned out. Im assuming I cant embed youtube vids?

Nice may 27th?!! I cant believe I can actually make it to this! haha Meets/shows rarely fall at the right times for me. I'll definitely be stopping out. I meant to come out last year in my e36 but I tried going to georgia for sowo the week before and ended up snapping a motor mount and cracking my oil pan on the way down lol

It's not as bad as it seems in the vid. Im gonna take an actual video and see how it comes out. I had no choice but to pull the first set of cats since they hang sooo low. The second set are still in there just tucked away. Then straight all the way back. I got no cats like this and it aint that bad

    I agree

this happened to my friend and i. when it happened I went to the police to see if theyd be able to help and they literally were like "damn you shouldn't have gone there. That guy is a crack head." lol apparently they literally caught the owner smoking crack a few times and somehow hes allowed to operate a shop

Thanks everyone. Alpine is right the car isnt THAT loud. I still have my secondary cats but everything else is straight piping. totally bareable for me. It's super loud but with the windows up and some tunes on it's all good. On the highway is smooth sailing, no drone

So I tried to pull my lenses off using my oven. realized that my headlights didnt even come remotely close to fitting in my oven. lmao So I just used a heat gun

painted the housings. Kind of a jdm headlight inspired usdm headlight if that makes sense. I didnt want to paint them to look exactly like black housing usdms

how they turned. im swapping the amber bulbs today for clears so there will be no more amber in the lights

and if anyone is interested in seeing my buddy's car seen next to mine. it's quite a dope little civic sedan.

haha yeah I hate it. I fix it all the time but as soon as it taps the pavement it starts sagging again. I might try drilling it on
